Purchasing A HorseWorldwide Equine.NET is geared towards making horse purchasing as easy and fun as possible. In order to accomplish this, we have set up a few guidelines and policies. These policies along with the following valuable information will help to prepare you for each step along the journey to your new equine partner. Your horse will come to you current on deworming, farrier, and all vaccinations (except those that are illegal in their country of origin. The Contract: Don’t be overwhelmed by the written offer/ purchase agreement. This is the first and one of the most crucial steps in buying a horse. Your Worldwide Equine.NET representative will go over the agreement with you to make sure you get all of your contingencies in and your questions answered. This contract is designed to be as simple and straight forward as possible while protecting the interests of all parties involved. The Deposit: An initial deposit is required when you make an offer on the horse you wish
to purchase. This is FULLY refunded to you if the horse fails to meet the
contingencies set in the contract. The deposit is held by Worldwide Equine
Brokers
until the contingencies are cleared. The Vet Exam: All horses offered by Worldwide Equine. NETare open to a full vet exam. A standard vet exam including x-rays and a drug test, with the x-rays sent to your vet for review is typically about $750.00. Prices will vary depending on U.S vet pricing. Transportation: Worldwide Equine.NET is happy to make the transport arrangements for you so all you have to do is wait for your horse to be delivered to your door. We will need the name and address of the farm they are being delivered to and a phone number for someone who will be there to unload them. You may also opt to arrange your own Import, we will get you in touch with an agent and you can follow your horse step by step. After you pay for your horse, it takes about 7-10 days to get them on a scheduled flight. After they arrive they will do the mandatory 72 hour quarantine. If your horse is a a mare or stallion over 720 days from a non CEM free country, they will then go to a CEM quarantine station. Stallions are in CEM quarantine for about 30 days, mares 14 to 17 days. We use UC Davis for West Coast CEM quarantine. East Coast CEM quarantine is generally done at Cornell University. (it is possible to make arrangements with a privately owned CEM facility of your choice). Your horse will be shipped in a halter with a safe lead rope. Blanket/ Sheet and shipping boots or leg wraps are used depending on the regulations set by the import agent and what your horse is use to. Worldwide Equine.NET highly recommends you obtain an Equine Insurance policy on your new horse prior to arranging transportation. We recommend you read our tips for caring for your Import if you are considering Importing a horse.
